Solar Panel Experts is a marketing name of Grant Store Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11083182). Our registered office is Units 20 & 21 Cinnamon Brow Business Park, Makerfield Way, Wigan, WN2 2PR. Grant Store Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as a credit broker (FRN 917379).
Grant Store Ltd is the data controller for personal information collected through this website (solarpanelexperts.co.uk). Our Data Protection Officer is the Managing Director, who can be contacted using the details at the end of this policy.
What information we collect
When you submit an enquiry through this website we collect:
- Your full name
- Your phone number
- Your property address
- The products you are interested in (solar PV, battery storage, air source heat pumps)
- Your intended installation timeframe
If you proceed to a survey, quotation or installation with us, we may also collect information needed to deliver the service — for example your email address, details about your property and energy usage, and, where you apply for grant funding or finance, information required by the relevant scheme or lender (such as proof of identity, proof of benefits for ECO eligibility, or occupancy documentation).
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a free, no-obligation design proposal
- To arrange surveys and carry out installations you have asked for
- To administer grant schemes on your behalf (for example the Boiler Upgrade Scheme or the Energy Companies Obligation)
- To broker finance where you have asked us to (as an FCA-authorised credit broker)
- For quality assurance, compliance inspections and customer satisfaction follow-ups
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations
Our lawful bases for processing are: taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you have made. We do not sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
Where relevant to your installation or funding route, your data may be shared with:
- Ofgem and other scheme administrators
- Energy suppliers providing grant funding
- The Department for Work and Pensions and HMRC (for eligibility verification)
- Certification and consumer-protection bodies such as MCS and RECC
- Quality-audit contractors acting on our behalf
- Finance providers, where you have asked us to broker finance
How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Where an installation proceeds, records connected to grant-funded schemes are retained for six years following completion of the scheme, in line with scheme rules and our legal obligations.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

Cookies and analytics
This website is a static site. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any behavioural tracking.
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement IDG-6WCGGCD3T8) to understand how many people visit the site and which pages help most. Analytics loads with Google Consent Mode v2: until you accept the consent banner, no analytics cookies are stored on your device. If you accept, Google Analytics stores cookies (typically _ga and _ga_G-6WCGGCD3T8) for up to two years to distinguish returning visitors. We enable IP anonymisation so your full IP address is never stored or transmitted to Google's servers.
We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising, we do not link it to any customer record you submit through the enquiry form, and we do not sell or share it with third parties beyond Google as the processor.
Other cookies and third-party requests on the site:
- Google Fonts — the fonts used for headings and body text are loaded from Google's font servers, which may log standard request data (such as your IP address) to deliver the files. No cookies are set.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — a "prove you are human" check on the enquiry form. Sets a temporary token to stop spam. No cross-site tracking.
- Local storage — we store your cookie choice (accept or decline) in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every page. This never leaves your device.
Changing your mind or opting out:
- To withdraw or change your consent, clear your browser's site data for solarpanelexperts.co.uk — the consent banner will reappear on your next visit.
- You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to block Analytics on every site you visit.
- Most browsers offer a "Do Not Track" or "Block third-party cookies" setting that also stops Analytics.
